Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for more efficiently generating the electric power in comparison with the conventional method and device for converting chemical energy to electric energy without transferring the material between a power generating part and the outside.
CONSTITUTION: Thermal decomposition of the reactant XY is thermally advanced on a catalyst electrode 1 of a negative electrode so as to generate the product material X and Y. The product material Y is the battery reactant, and it is divided into the ion Y+ and the electron e- on the catalyst electrode 1. The ion Y+ which passed through the solid electrolyte 3, and the electron e- which passed through an external resistor 6, and the product material X which is generated on the catalyst electrode 1, react with each other on a catalyst electrode 2 so as to regenerate the reactant XY. At this stage, since the removal of the battery reactant Y from the catalyst electrode 2 is unnecessary, the heat energy can be more efficiently converted into electric energy in comparison with the conventional method.
