Abstract:

To obtain the subject compound useful for medicines, agrochemicals and chemical materials industrially advantageously by effecting a microorganism having a function of stereoselectively hydrogenating a carbon-carbon double bond of a 2-, 3-disubstituted acrylic acid derivative.

This method for producing an optically active 2-, 3-disubstituted propionic acid derivative expressed by formula II efficiently at a low cost comprises effecting microbes of a microorganism having a function of stereo selectively hydrogenating a carbon-carbon double bond of a 2-, 3-disubstituted acrylic acid derivative expressed by formula I [R1 is a (substituted) alkyl, a (substituted) carboxyl, hydroxyl, a lower alkyloxy, a (substituted) aryl, a (substituted) heterocyclic ring group; R2 is H or a 1-6C lower alkyl; X is nitro, cyano, a lower alkyloxy, a (substituted) thiol, a (substituted) sulfonic acid or a (substituted) amino]. The compound is useful as various medicines, agrochemicals and chemicals, or their synthetic intermediates, or the like.
