Abstract:
Provided is a metal wire (1) having, in a cross-section (10) orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the metal wire (1), a flat-shaped cross-section (10) having a major axis direction (X) and a minor axis direction (Y) which are mutually orthogonal. The cross-section (10) has a shape enclosed by four sides constituted by a first long side (151) and a second long side (152) which face each other in the minor axis direction (Y), and a first short side (161) and a second short side (162) which face each other in the major axis direction (X). A first interval (15d) between the first long side (151) and the second long side (152) is not constant and has a thin section (20) in an area sandwiched between the first long side (151) and the second long side (152). The thin section (20) includes a portion at which the first interval (15d) is at a minimum.
