Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten metal nozzle capable of performing a desired molten metal discharging treatment appropriately by avoiding a configuration in which a magnetic flux density passing through a skull present near an upstream end of a molten metal flow passage where an opening diameter of the molten metal nozzle should be set large becomes lower than the magnetic flux density passing through the skull present near a downstream end of the molten metal flow passage.SOLUTION: A molten metal nozzle part 4 fixed to an opening part 22A formed at a bottom part of a crucible 2 is an assembly where several segments 6 electrically insulated to each other are arranged side-by-side in a peripheral direction and have a molten metal flow passage 41 for metal W to be molten inside of it, an inner peripheral surface of each of the segments 6 is formed by a tapered surface 6a, and a straight surface 6b extending from the lower end of the tapered surface 6a in a vertical direction and an outer peripheral end 6e of a part forming the upper end part of the molten metal nozzle part 4 of each of the segments 6 is formed with a segment opening part 6A to attain a bottom part molten metal nozzle 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
