Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect breakage at once even when a drill of small bore and the like is broken during working by providing a pair of luminous supply and receiving optical sensor along through an optical axis, and being made a device so as to receive sensor light directly on an abnormal occasion having been broken the drill and the like. CONSTITUTION:In a case of being normal a drill and the like, passage of sensor light sufficiently contracted with optical axis holes 42, 52 is interrupted with top end portion of the drill 3, and detected quantity of light on a receiving optical sensor 5 is very little, on the contrary, substantial quantity of light can be detected due to breakage on top end portion in abnormal occasion, therefore with using the distinct difference, broken state of the drill 3 and the like can be detected timely. Here, space portions 41, 51 are arranged so as to pass through forcibly from a luminous supply 4 and the receiving optical sensor 5 side through optical axis holes 42, 52 respectively to a center hole 11, and for taking in air from outside and inducing the same, air hole 12 is provided and air is sent forcibly in arrow mark A direction. This air hole 12 has effect not only on preventing the receiving optical sensor from being soiled or sensor light passage from being packed with chips but also on cooling top end portion of the drill.
