To provide a novel calcium antagonist capable of reducing or preventing various adverse effects with which intracellular calcium ions are associated, and particularly to provide a calcium antagonist capable of being simply obtained and being easily mass-produced.

The calcium antagonist includes at least one compound as an active constituent selected from the group consisting of compounds expressed by formulas (1) to (3), wherein R₁ is an alkylidene group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms and R₂ is an alkoxy group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms. Additionally, an antiarrhythmic drug, a vasorelaxant, an anti-cerebral vasospasm and the like comprising the calcium antagonist as the active constituent are provided.
