To provide a camera control system that intuitively controls a camera, such as a PTZ camera, whose photography direction is controlled.
This camera control system comprises: a pointer 1 equipped with a light source which emits laser light, and an optical lens system which forms a concentric interference pattern on an object with laser beams passing through different optical paths; a detecting device 2 which detects the interference pattern; the camera 3, such as the PTZ camera, whose photography direction is controllable; and a PC 4 which calculates the center coordinates of the concentric interference pattern on the basis of a detection signal from the detecting device 2, decides the center coordinates as intersection coordinates of the optical axis of the pointer 1 and the object 5, and outputs a control signal for directing the photography direction of the camera 3 to the intersection coordinates.
