Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the weight of an electric rotating machine by preventing abrupt pressure rise due to explosion of an explosive gas entering the machine, thereby making the frame thin.
CONSTITUTION: A stator disposed on the outer circumference of a rotor 2 is secured to the front frame 4 and the end frame 5 while keeping a predetermined gap with respect to the inner wall faces thereof. In other words, an independent space 12 (chamber) is formed between the front and end frames 4, 5 on the outer circumference of the stator 3. The stator 3 is provided with a channel 13 communicating between the chamber 12 and the space S formed in each frame 4, 5. The channel 13 comprises a plurality of grooves made, at an appropriate interval in the circumferential direction of the stator 3, in the ends face 3a of the stator 3 abutting against the stop face of the front frame 4.
