To permit the use of a card by any body without mistaking the inserting direction of the card into a card information reading device and without feeling of wrongness by a method wherein a picture pattern layer, provided with a picture pattern having the direction of top and bottom, which coincides with the inserting direction of the card into the card information reading device, is formed on a card substrate.
Center cores 11a, 11b are substrates, becoming the bearer of an information recording card 10. Picture pattern layers 12a, 12b are layers, which are indicating a picture pattern (a) which decorates the card, while the picture pattern layer 12a is formed on the center core 11a and the other picture pattern layer 12b is formed on the center core 11b. The lengthwise direction of the card of the picture pattern layer 12a is specified so as to be the direction of top and bottom of the picture pattern (a) and the side of the picture pattern (a), which is inserted into a card information reading device at first, is specified so as to be the top. Accordingly, a user can insert the card 10 into the card information reading device from the top side of the picture pattern (a) while seeing the picture pattern (a) when one inserts the information recording card into the same device. According to this method, the card can be inserted into the card information reading device by any body without mistaking the inserting direction of the same and without keeping the same in upside down.
