Abstract:
PURPOSE:To realize highly accurate quality control by imaging the bristle of magnetic developer by means of a CCD camera and processing the image of the bristle thereby determining the height of bristle of the magnetic developer for a magnetic roller in a laser printer. CONSTITUTION:The bristle tester comprises a special illuminator 3 mounting a developing unit 2 including a magnetic roller 1 demounted from a laser printer and observing the bristle state, and a plurality of CCD cameras 4. A signal delivered from the camera 4 is switched by means of a switch 5 under control of a personal computor 8 and delivered to an image processor 6 where the signal is binary encoded. A pattern thus obtained is observed through a TV monitor 7 while the binary encoded signal is operated through the personal computor 8 in order to determine the height of bristle and that data is recorded on a hard disc 7 and a printer 9. A pulse motor drives the magnetic roller 1 such that the roller 1 can be stopped at any time and the camera 4 images the state of bristle while irradiating the magnetic developer by means of the illuminator and then the personal computor 8 determines the height of bristle thus inspecting the magnetic roller 1.
