Abstract:

To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte excellent in oxidation resistance.

A nonaqueous electrolyte in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention contains a nonaqueous solvent, and an ionic compound dissolved in the solvent. The nonaqueous solvent contains a malononitrile compound represented by the formula (1), where R¹ represents a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic group, and R² represents a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic group, or a hydrogen atom. When R² is not a hydrogen atom, R¹ and R² may be bonded to each other.
