PURPOSE: To level traffics of lines between a line concentrating multiplexer and a packet processor by selecting optional one of plural lines to transfer information in case of packet transfer between the line concentrating multiplexer and the packet processor.
CONSTITUTION: In case of packet transfer from a packet mode terminal equipment 1 to a packet processor 3, a line concentrating multiplexer 2 maps packet information on the transfer control of a signal transfer sublayer corresponding to the data link layer of the packet mode terminal equipment 1 on signal transfer sublayers to transfer packet between the line concentrating multiplexer 2 and the packet processor 3. Since packets of packet mode terminal equipments stored in the line concentrating multiplexer are transferred through optional selected one out of one or more lines between the line concentrating multiplexer and the packet processor, traffics of respective lines are levelled.
