To obtain the subject powder capable of preventing production of peroxide in powder system, particularly, production of peroxide on skin by coating powder with a polymer obtained by polymerizing a monomer containing acrylic acid.
This powder is coated with a polymer obtained by polymerizing a monomer containing acrylic acid as one of a constituent monomer. The powder used includes powder having possibility bringing into contact with a non- oxidizing substance such as squalene, e.g. talc, sericite or mica. The polymer used for coating is preferably obtained by copolymerizing one or two or more kinds of monomers selected from styrene, α-methylstyrene, methyl methacrylate, etc., with acrylic acid. Further, a ratio of the powder to the polymer is preferably (90:10) to (10:90). Production of peroxide in sebum can be suppressed by applying the powder to cosmetic.
