PURPOSE: To provide a seat device which offers a driver good feeling of sitting, on which he can tirelessly sit without being hard on his backbone, even when he has to sit for a long time.
CONSTITUTION: A thorax control system 30 which displaces a cushion body 10a, is set in a back frame 20. This thorax control system 30 is constituted of an upper back control part 40 comprising an upper back control shaft 41 transversely mounted on the upper part of the back frame 20, an upper back transmission shaft 45 transversely mounted in the middle part, pulleys 42, 46 fixedly attached to the upper back control shaft 41 and the upper back transmission shaft 45, respectively, and a wrapping belt 48 fitted around the pulleys 42, 46 as being able to transmit the rotation, and a hips control part 50 comprising a hips control shaft 51 transversely mounted in the lower part of the back frame 20, a hips transmission shaft 55 transversely mounted in the middle part, pulleys 52, 53 fixedly attached to the hips transmission shaft 55 and the hips control shaft 51, respectively, and a wrapping belt 58 fitted around the pulleys 52, 53 as being able to transmit the rotation. The drive part 60 comprises gears 61, 62 fixedly attached to the upper back transmission shaft 45 and the hips transmission shaft 55, respectively, and engaged with each other so that an upper back part 11 and a lower back part 13 are connectedly moved and displaced to take a thorax support posture.
