Abstract:

To provide a secondary air supply apparatus for an internal combustion engine, preventing deterioration of exhaust emission even if an air pump is freezed.

An engine system includes the air pump 40 supplying secondary air to a catalyst 30 cleaning up exhaust gas from the engine 10, and a thawing room 50 to which a part of exhaust gas is introduced. The air pump 40 is arranged inside of the thawing room 50. Thereby, temperature in the thawing room 50 is raised by exhaust gas introduced into the thawing room 50, to thaw the air pump 40.
