Title:
TEMPERATURE SENSITIVE DISCOLORATION THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3870994
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image having high surface density, satisfactory color developable and erasable performance and transfer performance by orienting thermal discoloration microcapsule pigment of the shape having a recess or flat part on a wall of the capsule in a temperature sensitive discoloration hot meltable ink layer and the recess or flat part parallel to a support surface.
SOLUTION: A temperature sensitive discoloration hot meltable ink layer 2 is coated therein with thermal discoloration microcapsule pigment 3 of the shape having a recess or flat part at least part of a wall of the capsule so that at least one of the recess and flat part of the capsule 3 is oriented parallel to a support 1 surface. According to such temperature sensitive discoloration transfer recording medium, a thickness of the layer 2 can be reduced even in the presence of the pigment 3 of a necessary amount for color developing density or the like. Accordingly, transfer sensitivity and resolution become satisfactory. Therefore, an image having high density, satisfactory color developable or erasable performance by heat and transfer performance can be expressed.
