Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a highly accurate, high luminance flat panel display which can emits light in multicolor.
CONSTITUTION: In a semiconductor LED comprising a plurality of semiconductor layers 3, 4 of InxGa1-xN (0≤x≤1) having a light emitting part of an junction on a substrate 1, a buffer layer 2 having an AlN layer or a GaN layer is interposed between respective semiconductor layers in order to retard lattice distortion in upper or lower semiconductor layer. Furthermore, light emitting part of each semiconductor layer is exposed. In other words, each light emitting part exists independently with no overlap. This constitution realizes separate control of light emission of each semiconductor layer.
