Abstract:

A drive device, comprising a clutch (40) connecting and disconnecting a rotating shaft (24) used as the output shaft of a motor (30) to and from a drive shaft (22) and a stepless speed change gear (50) connecting an input shaft to the rotating shaft (24) and connecting the output shaft to the drive shaft (22) through a gear mechanism (52). A spring (36) is fitted to the rotor (31) of the motor (30) so that, when a torque from the motor (30) is small, the rotating shaft (24) can be connected to the drive shaft (22) by the clutch (40). When the torque from the motor (30) is increased, the rotating shaft (24) is moved by the thrust force of the motor against the energizing force of the spring (36) to release the connection of the rotating shaft (24) to the drive shaft (22) by the clutch (40), and the torque from the motor (30) is changed by the stepless speed change gear (50) and output to the drive shaft (22).
