Abstract:
An imaging device includes: a CCD (102) having an operation period and a focused operation
period and capable of mixing image signals of a plurality of pixels when reading
them out; an AFE (103) for converting the image signals into image data; a signal
processing unit (104b) for converting the image data into display data; an LCD
(107) for displaying the display data; and a pixel mixing control unit (104c)
for modifying a read frame rate of the CCD (102) and the number of pixels to be mixed.
The pixel mixing control unit (104c) performs control as follows. When in the
focused operation period, the pixel mixing control unit (104c) reads out an image
signal from the CCD (102) with a read-out frame rate higher than in the normal operation
period. When in the focused operation period, the pixel mixing control unit
(104c) reads out an image signal from the CCD (102) with a greater number of pixels
to be mixed than in the normal operation period. With this configuration, it
is possible to provide an imaging device capable of performing a high-speed focusing
even when the object is dark.
